You don't have to have everything figured out.
Just don't quit trying to figure things out.
You could be only three feet from gold.
Now, here are this weeks tips:
1. How to celebrate National Trails Day this weekend
Tomorrow, June 4th, is National Trails Day - a day dedicated to giving back to our local trails.
The best way to celebrate is by joining a trail cleanup or starting your own.
Organized trail cleanups and events are going on all over the country. You can find one to join in your area by visiting this website.
Even just picking up a single piece of trash on your next hike can help. It all adds up.
Consider bringing a small trash bag with you whenever your hike or go for a walk. A small biodegradable doggie poop bag works great to pick up small pieces of litter on the trail.
2. Could seaweed farming save us from environmental catastrophe?
Seaweed farming is a promising (partial) solution to some of the dire environmental problems we are currently facing, including climate change, ocean acidification, and the plastic pollution crisis.
Growing seaweed is far more sustainable than growing corn and other land-based crops, and research is showing that the marine plant can even be used to create biofuels and bioplastics, sequester carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and restore marine ecosystems.
So why don’t we turn our focus from corn farming to seaweed farming? Politics, of course.
3. The best way to make coffee while camping
I am a coffee addict and have tried nearly every method for making coffee while camping.
I recently wrote an article about the best ways to make coffee while camping, which is based on many years of trial and error.
In the article, I have broken down my top three methods that are based on the type of camping they work best for.
I hope it helps you stay caffeinated on the trail. :)
Talk to you next week, friends.
